On May 21st the next generation Xbox console is going to be revealed. It is definitely going to be an interesting reveal. With this in mind, several people have sent in support requests asking if FATXplorer will support next generation storage devices.

The answer is yes, support is planned, but remains uncertain. Will they implement a brand new file system? Will they force users to store content in the cloud? Whatever happens, I am looking forward to playing around with the next generation console’s storage systems as soon as possible.

Support for Xbox 360 storage devices will continue past the launch of the next console. I doubt 70 million Xbox 360 consoles are going to disappear anytime soon!
