It appears that you do not have .NET 4 installed. If you did, you would not be getting that error.

I know you said you installed it, but try it one more time:

    Ok, do this:
    1. Go into Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features
    2. Look for .NET 4 Client and .NET 4 Extended.

Let me know if you see any of those.

  • Elior

    both of them exist.
having “A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X86 service to connect.” in my System Event Viewer.
also, the .net verifier tool fails.
    got .net 2sp2, 3sp2, 3.5sp1, 4client, 4full installed…
    thanks

Hm, that is very strange. Can you download my OS Bitness tool and see if that will launch? Is is built on .NET 4, but on the very basic libraries. So that should run.

I decided to give your trial version of you program a try. Running Windows 7, I am getting an Unhandled exception- I/O error. Using Explorer360 I am able to read the drive with no problems. Any suggestions?

That or your transfer device is going bad. I don’t really have any suggestions. Those errors have never been reported before.

I accidentally deleted some saves from my drive and figured if the program could help me during the 3 day trial, I’d buy it out of gratitude. Unfortunately, the program wouldn’t read the drive directly and said the backup image wasn’t valid (Xport360 errors out when I try to backup the drive & Xplorer360 seems to back it up in a way that causes the backup to appear invalid to any program other than Xplorer360). Any suggestions?

I recently gave my Xbox arcade model to a nephew when I bought a new elite.
I copied my saves to a usb thumb drive but when I deleted my profile from the xbox i had forgotten to remove the usb drive.
I now have this usb drive but the MU i am sure has had a ton of saves done on it since this debacle.
I never had it signed on to xbox live.
How can I recover my deleted saves from the usb? Or can I?

    Thanks
    MArk

Hi Mark, please look at this: http://fatxplorer.eaton-works.com/2010/11/13/fatxplorer-data-recovery-build-now-public/

It seems to have a bug with USBs, though. If loading it from the menu doesn’t work, try Open Data directory on the Xbox360 folder on the USB.

Let me know of your results.

I gotta get to a windows 7 machine. Mine is XP and the program warns against using an XP machine. It does error out though when I clicked USB and browsing to the USB through the open data button shows the xbox folder and I highlight the data0001 file but don’t know what to do from there. Maybe it is an XP issue that’s what I wanna try it on a win seven
But I CAN see the data files. These held the saves I am sure.
On another note how do I connect a memory card to the pc to try a rescue from it??
Thanks for your time. I will donate.

Hello, when you use “Open Data Directory”, all you need to do is select the Xbox360 folder.

To connect a MU to a PC, you would use the XPort Docking Station by Codejunkies. I use it and it works perfectly.

If you do not have any success opening the USB, I encourage you to copy the Xbox360 folder to your computer and save it. Then use a newer FATXplorer build to open it when it is released. Then you will be able to get your data back.

    hello..
Used 2.0 to recover a deleted fallout 3 savegame on my XBOX360. I was abe to copy the file over to my computers HD successfully. How to I get it from File Type of “file” to a Content package so that it shows up on my XBOX? am I missing something easy.. I used version 2 to recover the fle to the hard drive andversion 1.2 to put it back in to the right XBOX Dir.

  • Eaton
#38 written by Eaton  1 year ago

Hello, looks like it has been overwritten since it just says “File” Nothing you can do about it, unfortunately.

Does it show up on the dashboard, though?

  • Mark
#39 written by Mark  1 year ago

you mean on the Xbox dashboard or on the FATXplorer screen?.. I see all of my deleted files on the 2.0 FATXplorer screen and they all say FILE as the file type.. I do not see the savegame in the Fallout3 game obviously because it is not the right type of file. not sure if thats what you are asking or not. thanks for the reply. thse save games were just deleted lst night so i thought that they should be there.

Hello, don’t worry about that column – it may not work for deleted files. Just extract the file(s), put them back on with 1.2, and see if they work.

You most likely did not do a FULL installation of .NET Framework 4. Install that and it will run.

Can this program still recover saved games from the xbox 360 hard drive? I mistakenly deleted saved games for over 70 games (6 years of 360 gaming) and would like to recover some if not all of these files. I am trying to message Eaton but keep getting linked to some other site when I click his name. Willing to buy and support this program.

#46 written by Eaton  8 months ago

Luis, the link over a user’s name is the link to their site. You could have sent a support request there or even here @ Support/Contact.

T answer your question, FATXplorer has had the capability to do this for a while. Here is a quick tutorial:

    1. Enable “View Deleted Items” in the Settings.
    2. Find your deleted items and transfer them to your computer.
    3. Put the items back into the appropriate places to get them back.

If you require more help, reply here or send in a support request.

Well I formatted after backing up just my profile to a USB drive. Lost game saves of coarse, but I’m really only concerned with getting my Star Ocean save with 200+ hours back. Got the drive hooked up, I’m seeing it, selected view deleted items tab but I’m not seeing anything Under content other than the all 0000′s downloaded content folder and the folder containing simply a 1.64mb file that is the profile i imported off of the drive under the Content partition. I just want that ONE save ;( am I screwed? Various recovery programs find alot of deleted files mainly .dbf files i see jpegs and stuff showing my profile thumbnail pics so im hoping all is not lost but those recovery softwares don’t keep wany directory structure just a list of files so i have no idea what was in the content folder and the like. Any ideas?
