Errors During Activation
Activation is the process of activating the actual program. The following messages are actual messages that will be returned from the server in the event of a failure. They have been neatly written to provide you with an understanding of the failure.
-Error: “The name ‘YourName’ was not found in the database. Make sure you are using the full name you entered in the order process.”
Information: The name you specified was not found in the FATXplorer license database.
How to fix: When you purchase FATXplorer, it is licensed to the name you entered during the order process. Enter the full and proper name to resolve this issue.
–Error: “Serial number is valid, but is not registered. Please contact support@fatxplorer.eaton-works.com and have your payment details ready.”
Information: No one should ever encounter this. This means that you have a valid serial number, but it has not been registered to any particular person in the database.
How to fix: Do what the message says.
–Error: “The e-mail address ‘YourEmail’ was not found in the database. Make sure you are using the e-mail address you entered in the order process.”
Information: The e-mail address you specified was not found in the FATXplorer license database.
How to fix: When you purchase FATXplorer, it is licensed to the e-mail address you entered during the order process. Enter the full and proper e-mail address to resolve this issue.
–Error: “License details mismatch detected. Please ensure you are using the correct license.”
Information: The details you specified exist in the FATXplorer license database, but they do not all belong to the same entity.
How to fix: Make sure all of the license details are correct and that you aren’t trying to “mix n’ match” license details.
–Error: “This license has been blacklisted and cannot be used to activate the software. There is no recourse for license violations.”
Information: The license has been flagged as blacklisted because the license holder was found guilty of a harmful offense to something related to FATXplorer.
How to fix: There is no recourse for license violations.
–Error: “This license is already activated. Deactivate the license on the computer it is currently in use on and you will be able to activate again without seeing this message. If you need help, contact support@fatxplorer.eaton-works.com. You could also purchase another license. Additional licenses can be purchased by clicking the ‘Buy Now’ button on FATXplorer’s license form.”
Information: The FATXplorer license server detected that the license is already activated.
How to fix: Either deactivate it on the computer it is activated on by using Licensing/Deactivate or by requesting a license reset.
Errors During Validation
*Only applies to the Online Licensed Edition.
*For security purposes, most license validation errors will clear the license you are using. This means the license will be deleted from the computer and you will need to reactivate.
License validation is a process FATXplorer will perform every time it starts up and periodically during the use of the program. The following messages are actual messages that will be returned from the server in the event of a failure. They have been neatly written to provide you with an understanding of the failure.
–Error: “License is not valid.”
Information: No one should ever encounter this. This means that the license details in the FATXplorer license database have changed since you last activated.
How to fix: Check your inbox to see if an e-mail with more information was sent. It is possible that a new serial number was issued and e-mailed to you.
–Error: “This license has been blacklisted and cannot be used. There is no recourse for license violations.”
Information: The license has been flagged as blacklisted because the license holder was found guilty of a harmful offense to something related to FATXplorer.
How to fix: There is no recourse for license violations.
–Error: “Cannot use a deactivated license.”
Information: The FATXplorer license server detected that the license is deactivated.
How to fix: Activate again.
